Yes, at any time. Sometimes I will be performing my IIM before I must go somewhere and I must stop them suddenly. It is a normal thing I have learned to do.

Yes, but I usually don’t. There is no need to, and stopping myself takes energy and focus, and often requires me to not think about the thing that was triggering it. Some tasks are easier while doing my stereotypy, so I don’t bother to stop it. But, if I have to stop it, I can.

I can’t prevent them, since I don’t know they are going to happen, but if I hear or see something that catches my attention, I will stop doing my movements.

Yes, but I generally don’t. In private I just do them because it’s unpleasant to force myself not to.

Only if I realise I am doing them! As soon as I realize, they stop by themselves. I can’t stop myself from starting as I don’t really know when they are about to start.
