Have you ever tried to get rid of your movements?
Did anything work?
I have tried a couple of things with my psychiatrist to reduce, not necessarily stop, my movements. The main reason I was seeking this was mostly because of time management in college. I knew college would be a very time consuming activity and that my movements might hinder some of my studies. We tried oxytocin, a hormone said to stop movements, but after the placebo affect wore off it didn’t really do anything (and it was expensive!). We did find however that anti-depressants, something I was already taking small doses of, worked to reduce movements. We began a trial basis of increasing my dosage and found the higher the dosage the shorter and less frequent my movements were. At 30mg, however I found the anti-anxiety part of my medication was working on overdrive and both my eustress and distress were completely gone. I got no work done and I ended up going back to the 20mg which has cut my time stemming in half.
